  • Cloud computing applications using Hadoop, Authentication protocol for Cloud computing, Parallel algorithms in CUDA, task scheduling algorithm for atypical dependancy graphs, etc.

Representative Projects

Distributed processing of Snort alert log using Hadoop

  • Period: 2013.5.1. ~ 2014.4.30
  • Objective: to develope an integrated alert system on huge server system
  • Methods: A Snort process works as an NIDS in each server node → Chuckwa processes gather logs generated by Snorts and gather into a controller using Hadoop framework → The controller issues alerts according to log levels.
  • Effects: distribute workloads of NIDS over the entire system.

Image processing improvement using CUDA

  • Objective: to speed up image filtering process
  • Methods: improves legacy parallel image filtering process by increasing parallelism in CUDA library
  • Effects: Gaussian filter speeds up to 2 times; improved parallel integral histogram reduces memory leakage.
